There are no rules that say a CSM can not scam you. There are no rules that even say they they are trust worthy because they are a CSM then Scam you. Unless you can produce logs that has the Mittani saying "I can't scam you because I am not allowed as I work for CCP"(Not allowed to mislead people by pretending to be on CCP Staff) then there is nothing they can do.

CCP Employee's are not allowed to use there official positions or there name to do anything in game. They are not allowed to scam you at all. CSM are not CCP employee's. They are players who talk to CCP based upon how many people voted for them and that is it. They have the same restrictions in game as anyone else. They as far as can be proven have not violated the Terms of Service they are not liable for the actions they take. The only moral standard they have to live by is one where they get re-elected. If what they do causes them to not get elected then they have failed to meet that standard and are not CSM's. CSM's do not equal CCP. So CCP Scamming and a CSM Scamming are no where near the same thing. The only thing that they have in common is that there acronyms both have 3 letters and start with a C.

You could have Checked to see if Mittani was legit or used a broker that is well trusted. You did not. You and anyone who plays this game should and probably do know that scamming is in fact allowed. You could have checked to see if the CSM's are allowed to scam you or not, there is a wealth of information on the subject. But you did not, you just assumed and even though you just asked what are the CSM's you trusted them. You pay CCP for access to the Server and that is it. If you do not like the rules of the game(the ones you did not bother to learn) then you can quit. Really it is your loss, EVE is a great game if you know how to play it.
